2024 Toyota Alphard unveiled and is more luxurious than ever before
The 2024 Toyota Alphard has been unveiled, following the footsteps of its even more luxurious sibling, the Lexus LM, which was unveiled a few months ago for the Chinese market during the Auto Shanghai 2023.
Extremely popular with large companies and individuals looking for a comfortable ride to get around the city and the occasional business and leisure trips outside, the Toyota Alphard is probably the best-selling luxury minivan in the Philippines. This new version comes around 7 years since the outgoing 3rd generation was first unveiled in 2015.
Going for an evolutionary redesign compared to the outgoing model, the 2024 Toyota Alphard still gets similar styling cues evidently seen on the front fascia and rear design. It does follow the “Forceful x IMPACT LUXURY” design theme which they say is “an exterior design that exudes power.”
The front is characterized by a large front grille with a cheese grater or waffle pattern (maybe we’re just hungry hehe), flanked by integrated headlights which look sleeker than before. The side profile is still similar but has a Z-shaped beltline allowing for a modern look. The rear on the other hand gets a more sculpted design with a panel containing the LED taillights and license plate wrapping around the width of it.
Inside, Toyota has definitely upped the game for the 2024 Alphard with more premium finishes and more space. Second row passengers will continue to benefit from business class like seats while front occupants will enjoy the sleeker wraparound dashboard with large screens for the driver’s instrument cluster, as well as the infotainment system.
New here is what Toyota calls the “Super-Long Overhead Console” in the middle section of the ceiling which houses rear airconditioning vents as well as their controls, as well as window and lighting controls. Their placement allows it to be easily accessible by any passenger. Also, 2nd and 3rd row occupants get pull-down window shades for more privacy or sun protection.
Powering the 2024 Toyota Alphard are two engine options depending on the variant. The base option is a 2.5-liter 2AR-FE naturally-aspirated gasoline engine. We don’t have the exact output figures yet as of now. The second option and likely to be more popular now is a 2.5-liter Inline 4-cylinder DOHC A25-FXS gasoline engine paired to an electric motor. This hybrid powertrain produces 250 horsepower with fuel efficiency of up to 17.5 km/l.
The 2024 Toyota Alphard will be manufactured in the Japanese automaker’s Inabe Plant in Japan with sales to start in their home market first. Given its popularity here in the Philippines, we expect it to arrive sooner as well.
