Hyundai IONIQ 6 electrifies its way to PH, officially launched for Php 3.798M

Probably one of the most crowd attracting vehicles during the 2023 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) where it was previewed for the Philippine market, the Hyundai Ioniq 6, has finally been launched and is now available in local Hyundai dealerships.

Revealed to the world last year at the 2022 Busan International Motor Show in South Korea, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 (stylized as IONIQ) is the Korean automaker’s first fully-electric sedan. It also rides on the E-GMP platform that it shares with the Ioniq 5 crossover and Kia EV6. Its launch is also a follow-up to the Korean automaker’s push for electrification in the Philippines led by the Ioniq 5 last year.

Looking at its exterior, the Ioniq 6 is visibly different from the rest of the Hyundai family, getting its design elements from the Prophecy EV Concept. It is certainly attractive with its mix of sharp and soft lines and fastback silhouette, giving it a coupé-like appearance. We particularly love its rear LED lightbar and spoiler. Its interior is likewise very attractive with its dominant use of straight lines and its overall sleek appearance, with choices of a black or dark gray color scheme.

Standard equipment include full LED exterior lighting (headlights, daytime running lights, taillights), 20-inch two-tone alloy wheels, heated side mirrors with power fold function, rear spoiler, leather seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, 12.3-inch driver’s instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, Bose audio system, and a wireless phone charger, among others.

In addition, eight (8) exterior colors will be available: Abyss Black Pearl, Serenity White Pearl, Curated Silver Metallic, Gravity Gold Matte, Nocturne Gray Matte, Biophilic Blue Pearl, Digital Green Pearl, and Ultimate Red Metallic.

Powering the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a permanent magnetic synchronous 77.4 kWh 697V lithium-ion battery that produces 229 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, mated to a Single Speed Gear Reduction transmission. Driving range can go as much as 545 km as Hyundai claims.

Using a fast charger, the Ioniq 6’a battery can charge from 10-80% in just 18 minutes.

For safety, Hyundai has equipped the Ioniq 6 with its SmartSense technology giving it Smart Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go, Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA2), Blind-Spot Collision Warning (BCW), Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist (BCA), Parking Distance Warning (PDW), Reverse Parking Collision-Avoidance Assist (PCA), Driver Attention Warning (DAW), Lane Following Assist (LFA), High Beam Assist (HBA), Rear Seat Alert (RSA), Surround View Monitor (SVM), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance (RCCA), and a Blind-spot View Monitor (BVM).

Again, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the second fully electric vehicle to join its Philippine lineup. Pricing is set at Php 3,798,000. That price also includes a free home wall charging kit which will be installed by the selling Hyundai dealer.

Buyers will also be able to take advantage of a 5-year or 200,000 km vehicle warranty, 8-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, and 5-years or 75,000 km free preventive maintenance service.

Availability of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 will be in select Hyundai dealerships in Luzon: Alabang, Commonwealth, Makati, and Pasig for Metro Manila, and Pampanga.
