2024 Hyundai Santa Fe previewed for PH, launching Q1 2024

Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) is ending 2023 by starting 2024 as they preview their newest crossover model that is set to enter the Philippine market in the first quarter of next year.

The Korean automaker previewed today at a thanksgiving event for local motoring media and content creators the all-new fifth generation Hyundai Santa Fe which was revealed less than a year ago for the North American market.

Hyundai gave its midsize crossover quite the redesign for its all-new generation with a radical transformation inside, and most especially outside. Looking at its exterior, the all-new Santa Fe is certainly distinct, wearing a whole new design concept. The boxy shape exudes a more rugged aura, and on a practicality standpoint, provides more interior space.

The front fascia is highlighted by its H-shaped lighting signature and overall grille design. The bumper also receives the H motif with its shape. The side shows off its clean and flat look, accented by large 21-inch alloy wheels. The rear on the other hand features low-positioned taillights.

As for its interior, Hyundai has given the Santa Fe a similar treatment as with their other latest products, offering more space and more storage areas. The horizontal and boxy theme follows here together with dual large screens housed in a curved display. Recycled materials also make up much of the interior’s finishes.

HMPH has not gone into specifics for the all-new Santa Fe but the units on display had a 2.5T badge, meaning we could see a 2.5-liter Smartstream-G turbocharged gasoline engine that produces 281 horsepower and 422 Nm of torque, mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Another possible option is a hybrid powertrain composed of a 1.6-liter Smartstream-G turbocharged gasoline engine, paired with an electric motor, allowing for a total output of 230 horsepower and 350 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission.

It could also come with the full suite of Hyundai’s Smartsense advanced driver-assist systems which includes autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and blindspot monitoring, among others.

Again, the all-new Hyundai Santa Fe will be launched in the Philippines by the first quarter of 2024. Three other models or variants will also be added to the lineup over the year.
