Nissan to showcase concepts, AUTECH and NISMO at Tokyo Auto Salon 2024
The 2024 Tokyo Auto Salon is happening next month. One of the largest automotive events in the “Land of the Rising Sun,” it’s back for another installment with Nissan participating.
The Japanese automaker will be showcasing a handful of vehicles from their all-electric racecar, to various concept vehicles, and their NISMO and Autech lines.
One of the vehicles to be showcased is the Disaster Support Mobile-Hub concept van. This vehicle, based on the Caravan, which is known here in the Philippines as the Urvan, has been customized to serve as a mobile support hub in times of disaster. Equipped with multiple sets of “Portable Battery from LEAF” launched in September, the model is aimed to secure lifelines and bring other solutions in disaster-stricken areas.
Nissan will also be unveiling a new off-road SUV concept based on the X-Trail (cover photo). To be called the X-Trail Crawler Concept, the company says it will have boosted off-road flavor and gear toughness with an exterior that represents a world of rock-crawling, running through steep and rough terrain, and a luggage area that contains the tools that have always been looked for in the X-Trail.
The reveal of that vehicle is timely given how popular anything that involves bringing cars to the road less travelled is now, after the pandemic.
Other vehicles on display will be the 3rd generation Nissan e-4ORCE 04 Formula E racecar, Roox Beams Customized Concept, March Customized Concept, X-Trail Autech Sports Spec Concept, Serena Autech Sports Spec Concept, GT-R NISMO, Z NISMO, and Skyline NISMO.
The Tokyo Auto Salon 2024 is happening at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Tokyo, Japan from January 12 to 14, 2024.
