Hyundai Motor PH sales grow 289% in 2023
Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) started 2024 stronger than ever after a very successful 2023, experiencing exponential sales growth over the year. This we found out from the company’s Deputy General Manager for Marketing Mr. Mark Parulan during a recent drive activity with the Stargazer X compact MPV in Pampanga.
The Korean automaker was able to sell 9,142 new vehicles last year. That equates to a 289% increase compared to the previous year where they sold 2,350 units.
The large increase in sales also allowed HMPH to jump from 13th-place in 2022, all the way to eighth-place last year, also putting the brand well into the top 10 best-selling automotive brands for the year, just behind Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) and ahead of Geely, under Sojitz G Auto Philippines Corporation (SGAP).
We’ve requested from our friends over ag HMPH a breakdown of how many units they sold per model so that we can see which ones did the best. We have not received the list yet but we’ll surely add it here once it becomes available to us.
Over the year, HMPH introduced three new models—the IONIQ 6 fully-electric sedan, Custin midsize MPV, and Stargazer X compact MPV. Also launched were a new 6-seater variant of the Stargazer, and 9-seater variant of the Staria. They also previewed late last year the all-new fifth generation of the Santa Fe which is expected to be launched in the coming months.
