Toyota Vios 1.5 G variant makes a comeback…temporarily
Last week we reported that Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has discontinued sales of the top-spec Vios 1.5 G grade, leaving buyers looking for the most-equipped variant to to the 1.3 XLE grade. In fact, it was already removed from their local website’s pricelist.

Well it seems that the country’s bestselling subcompact sedan’s highest variant has made a comeback albeit temporarily.
A quick look at the Japanese automaker’s local website confirms that. This also means that the local-spec Toyota Vios can once again be had with features such as LED headlights and daytime running lights, automatic climate control, leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters, speed-sensing door locks, and power-folding mirrors, among others.
Exterior paint job options are also now limited to just three–Black 1, Grayish Blue Mica Metallic, and Super Red V.
Not only that, it also means that the popular subcompact sedan can be had again powered by the more powerful 1.5-liter 2NR-FE gasoline engine that makes 107 horsepower and 140 Nm of torque mated to either a 5-speed manual transmission or CVT.
When asked why the range-topper was removed for a few days, a representative from TMP said that some dealerships still had remaining stocks of the said trim levels. Nevertheless, this is still your last chance to grab one if you wish as the variant will once again be discontinued once the remaining stocks are depleted.
With the return of the Toyota Vios 1.5 G, the lineup now once again looks and is priced as follows:
- 1.3 J M/T – Php 732,000
- 1.3 XE CVT – Php 774,000
- 1.3 XLE M/T – Php 862,000
- 1.3 XLE CVT – Php 902,000
- 1.5 G M/T – Php 979,000
- 1.5 G CVT – Php 1,039,000
