All-electric Volvo EX30 launches in PH for Php 2.990M
Volvo Philippines marks its first lineup expansion after its local operations were taken over by its new distributor Hariphil Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), with the launch of the fully-electric EX30.
With a suggested retail price of Php 2,990,000, the Volvo EX30 is now the most affordable model in the Swedish luxury automaker’s lineup. It is also their third fully-electric model locally after the C40 Recharge and XC40 Recharge crossovers.
On the outside, the EX30 wears signature Volvo styling cues such as the Thor’s hammer headlights which get a futuristic pixel-like pattern, and muscular body lines. The rear still gets a pair of vertical taillights but with the same pixel-like look as the headlights, and are split into two pieces each.
Inside, the Volvo EX30 is minimalist and is made up of what Volvo is also proud to say is 17% recycled materials. These include its denim, flax, and wool-blend fabrics.
Right in the center is a 12.3-inch portrait touchscreen which integrates the driver’s instrument cluster with the infotainment system. This is paired to a nine-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
As for its powertrain, our market gets the single motor extended range version. This makes the EX30 powered by an electric motor and 64 kWh NMC battery. This produces 272 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque.
It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kph in just 5.3 seconds and has an estimated driving range of 475 km on a single charge. Through DC fast charging, its battery can be replenished from 10 to 80% in just 26 minutes.
Being a Volvo, it is well-equipped with advanced driver-assist systems. This includes Pilot Assist which helps manage speed and distance to vehicles ahead while providing steering assistance and prompts as needed. This suite also includes Driver Attention Monitoring, and a Collision Avoidance System.
Customers will be able to take advantage of a comprehensive warranty package. This includes a five-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, and an eight-year or 160,000 km battery warranty, whichever comes first.
