The boxy and luxurious 2026 Hyundai Palisade can drive on the bus lane (in South Korea)

The all-new 2026 Hyundai Palisade has been revealed, receiving a major redesign inside and out, along with some interesting quirks.

This reveal marks the second generation of the Korean automaker’s flagship SUV, six years after it was first unveiled in 2018. Compared to the outgoing generation, they are aiming for something even more luxurious and it looks like they are successful.

Looking at the outside, it takes on a different design direction compared to other Hyundai models with its stately and premium look. The front fascia is imposing with a large front grille and vertical headlights with horizontal elements.

The side profile shows that it is boxier, taking some cues from the Santa Fe midsize crossover, while matte silver-finished roof rails and D-pillar gives a little bit of contrast. At the back, the taillights mimic the headlights with more horizontal elements and vertical orientation giving it a wider stance.

Inside, the new Palisade features what Hyundai calls a Premium Living Space with its horizontal layout that is said to be inspired by premium furniture. As with recent Hyundai products, it features a panoramic curved display that combines the dual 12.3-inch screens for the driver’s instrument cluster and infotainment screen into one.

Unique to is its island-type center console. This is separated from the dashboard providing more room. Found there is a 100W USB port, a wireless charger, large-capacity cup holders (2), lower storage space, and a console box that opens on both sides.

What makes it more unique is that it can be lifted up to form a middle seat. This feature makes the Palisade a nine-seater vehicle, allowing it the benefit of making use of the bus lanes in South Korea. A seven-seater version with second-row captain’s seats will also be available.

Powertrains have not yet been announced but we won’t be surprised to see this have a hybrid under the hood. Turbocharged gasoline or diesel options could also make a comeback.
