Mini PH expands its lineup with the Aceman and Cooper 5-door
It’s been five months since Mini Philippines (under the Autohub Group) introduced the all-electric Cooper and Countryman to its lineup, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping there.
Mini Philippines is bringing in two more models, specifically the Aceman and the Cooper 5-door to our market.
The Aceman subcompact crossover replaces the Clubman in the lineup, sitting in between the Cooper and Countryman. It’s available in just one variant— the Favoured trim, and it retails for P3,550,000.
The electric motor has an output of 160 kW (218 horsepower) and 330 Nm, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint of 7.1 seconds and a 170 km/h top speed. It also has a 54.2 kWh battery allowing for a range of up to 407 km, and charging from 10 to 80% can be done in under 30 minutes thanks to a 95 kW DC fast charging.
Compared to the rounded elements found on the Cooper, the Aceman utilizes a lot of octagonal elements, especially in the lights, front grille, body cladding, and two-tone 19-inch wheels. The light patterns front and back can even be personalized.
The interior design is similar to newer Mini vehicles, with a single circular 240mm multi-function OLED display front and center, a heads-up display behind the three-spoke steering wheel, and the toggle bar underneath for important physical controls, plus a Harman Kardon sound system.
The recycled fabric upholstery also extends to the door trim and dashboard, which has various patterns projected onto it depending on the seven different “Experience Modes”, further accentuated by the contrast color fabrics.
The seats are wrapped in a perforated Vecsin vegan leather, with the rear bench enabling a 60:40 split-fold to expand the 300 L of cargo space up to 1,005 L.
The Aceman is also fully equipped with a comprehensive advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) suite, complete with a 360-degree camera, steering and lane assistance, and even a Digital Key function that allows you to utilize supported smartphones as a key.
Meanwhile, the Cooper 5-door costs P3,799,000 in the Favoured trim.
This is for people who want all the fun that the Cooper delivers in its small package, but with an extra pair of doors to make things a little more practical.
Just like the Aceman, the rounded Mini lights and taillights can be personalized with different styles, and the Cooper rides on 18-inch wheels.
The interior shares the same recycled fabrics, heads-up display, three-spoke steering wheel, 240mm multi-function OLED display with projectors, and the toggle bar for physical controls, Harman Kardon sound system, and a complete ADAS suite.
In addition to the rear bench that’s a lot more accessible, the cargo capacity is now increased to 275 L, expandable up to 925 L.
The Cooper 5-door has a specifically suspension allowing for the signature go-kart-like handling the Cooper is known for, and is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine with 204 horsepower and 300 Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that sends power to the front wheels.
You can catch the two cars on display at the four Mini showrooms nationwide: Mini BGC, Mini Alabang Town Center pop-up, Mini Pampanga, and Mini Cebu.
