New Tesla Model Y makes it way into PH with Php 2.369M starting price

Tesla may have only recently made its debut in the Philippine market, but it’s already going aggressive with the local launch of the updated Model Y crossover. Dubbed as the Juniper, it was first revealed for the Chinese market in January this year, making our market one of the first markets globally to receive this new version.

Competing in the compact electric crossover segment with the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5 and very popular BYD Atto 3, the new 2025 Tesla Model Y for the Philippine market comes in two variants with various customization options.

First is the Launch Series RWD with a starting price of Php 2,369,000. This offers up to 466 km of driving range and a 0-100 kph acceleration time of 5.9 seconds. Meanwhile, the Launch Series Long-Range AWD comes with a starting price of Php 2,689,000, and offers a driving range of 551 km and a quicker 0-100 kph acceleration time of 4.3 seconds.

In terms of looks, the biggest changes can be found on the exterior where Tesla has given the crossover a more futuristic appearance taking cues from the infamous Cybertruck. It’s sleeker and more streamlined, especially with the full-width LED light bar on the upper portion and low-positioned headlights on the bumper, while the rear also gets a full-width light bar for the taillights. The bumpers have also been redesigned with cleaner lines in front, and more ruggedness at the back.

It rides on 19-inch Crossflow alloy wheels as standard, with an available option for larger 20-inch Helix 2.0 alloys priced at Php 133,000. Tesla has also updated the Model Y’s suspension for a smoother ride.

As for its colors, the standard exterior paint job is Pearl White Multi-Coat. Stealth Gray or Glacier Blue paint jobs will cost an extra Php 99,000, while Quicksilver or Ultra Red will go for an extra Php 146,000.

Inside, it has retained most of the pre-refresh version’s styling. New is its central touchscreen which has been increased in size to 15.4-inches, while rear passengers get an 8-inch control screen. Standard is a black interior with the option for white costing an extra Php 66,000.

Other standard equipment include leather seats with heating and ventilation, power recline rear seats, as well as a suite of advanced driver-assist systems which includes forward collision warning, active emergency braking, and lane departure avoidance.

Being a Tesla, customers can choose from various Autopilot packages. Standard is Basic Autopilot which includes Autosteer and traffic-aware cruise control functions. Customers can option for Enhanced Autopilot which adds assisted driving, automatic parking, as well as summon and autopilot navigation for Php 197,000; and Full Self-Driving Capability for Php 394,000.

Customer deliveries for the 2025 Tesla Model Y will begin in April 2025 with reservations now being accepted at the Tesla Experience Center in Bonifacio Global City for a non-refundable and credit card only payment of Php 15,000.

Oh, and for those wondering about orders made during the brand’s launch, customers who ordered early will also get this updated version. Think of it as a nice surprise or a thank you by Tesla as a free upgrade for those who chose to pre-order.
