The Toyota C-HR+ is the brand’s newest full EV for Europe

Say hello to the new Toyota C-HR+.

A few weeks ago, we reported that Toyota is set to reveal a new fully-electric crossover. There is no need to guess anymore as the Japanese automaker has unveiled the C-HR+.

Not to be confused with the C-HR subcompact crossover, the C-HR+ is a completely new and different model, built on the e-TNGA platform that is shared with the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ.

It wears Toyota’s signature Hammerhead styling in front.

Being a totally separate model, the C-HR+ gets a completely different body with sleek coupé-like crossover styling. As with many of Toyota’s newest products, it wears the signature Hammerhead styling in front and a full-width light bar at the rear with an integrated spoiler and fins for better aerodynamics.

The interior is modern and feature-rich.

Inside, it gets a modern cabin which Toyota says offers generous space expected from larger compact crossovers. Among its features are a 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with hard buttons and dials (yay!), dual wireless phone chargers, and a panoramic glass roof.

No need to fight on who gets to wirelessly charge their phones first.

The Toyota C-HR+ can be had in both front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) forms with motors shared with the bZ4x

The lower output FWD gets a single front electric motor making 167 horsepower and paired with a 57.7 kWh battery that allows for a range of 455 km. A higher output version is also available with 224 horsepower and a 77 kWh battery, allowing for a range of 600 km.

Meanwhile, the AWD version gets dual electric motors making a combined 343 horsepower, also paired to a 77 kWh battery, and allowing for a range of 525 km.

Toyota is also flexing a “superior driving experience” with a specially tuned suspension and increased steering responsiveness, matched with a more rigid body thanks to the new platform as well as a lower center of gravity.

Should Toyota bring this to other markets outside of Europe?

Sales of the all-new Toyota C-HR+ will start in select European markets before the end of the year. It is currently unknown whether Toyota plans to introduce it in other markets outside of Europe, but it would probably make sense, right?
