The Subaru Solterra loses its cladding for 2026

Still not over from what Subaru has done to the Outback? Well for some peace of mind, check out what they’ve done to the all-electric Solterra which has received an update for 2026.

Following suit with its Toyota bZ4X sibling which received a refresh last month, the Solterra also gets its own set of updates for this year.

For starters, the Solterra is now more distinct from the bZ4X with most of the unpainted plastic body cladding removed from the exterior. It also gets a cleaner look and wears Subaru’s new EV signature lighting design with the new split headlights and illuminated Subaru emblem

The Subaru name has been spelled-out at the back, along with a redesigned spoiler for improved aerodynamics, and a new tailgate garnish.

The interior has also been redesigned, following what we already saw in the bZ4X with a horizontal theme for the dashboard, and an upsized 14-inch touchscreen display, updated instrument panel, and a wide center console.

Powering the updated Subaru Solterra is a dual electric motor system producing a combined 236 horsepower, paired to a 74.7kWh lithium-ion battery that provides more than 459km of range. There’s also the Solterra XT variant which gets more at 340 horsepower and a 0-100kph acceleration time of just under five seconds.

We do doubt that we’ll be seeing the Subaru Solterra make a Philippine launch soon considering how quiet the brand has been when it comes to new car launches in the past few years. Hopefully they give us a surprise?
