The latest in Philippine motoring

The Zeekr 009 is an electric Alphard fighter, now available in PH starting at Php 4.199M

Nearly a year after making its local launch, Zeekr Philippines, under the distributorship of the Autohub Group, is expanding its lineup of full EVs with the introduction of its flagship 009 luxury minivan in our market.

Set to compete with the likes of the very popular Toyota Alphard HEV and its more luxurious Lexus LM twin, and the GAC M8, the launch of the Zeekr 009 marks the entry of the first fully-electric luxury minivan in the Philippine market.

It’s available in two variants: the Lounge 7-Seater which is priced at Php 4,199,000, and the Executive 6-Seater which is priced at Php 4,399,000.

Built on Geely’s Sustainable Experience Architecture (SEA) platform which it shares with the Volvo EM90 and Polestar 4, the Zeekr 009 measures at 5,209mm long, 2,024mm wide, and 1,812mm tall, riding on a 3,205mm wheelbase.

Its exterior will definitely turn heads with its inverted U-shaped DRLs and closed-off waterfall-like front grille. The side is emphasized by wraparound taillights with 402 LED units, and Zeekr is also proud of its low drag coefficient of just 0.27Cd.

The inside is where the magic happens as Zeekr says it offers a first-class cabin experience. A 15.05-inch touchscreen infotainment system is front-and-center, along with a 10.25-inch driver’s digital cluster

More importantly, the second row is the place to be in. Occupants will enjoy the luxurious Sofaro seats which can be adjusted 16 different ways, feature heating and ventilation, reclines up to 132-degrees, and are upholstered in Nappa leather. These also come with a massage function, adjustable legrests, and foldable tray tables.

Rear occupants will also enjoy the 17-inch 3K OLED rear entertainment screen which is matched with a 30-speaker Yamaha audio system. Other features include a thermostatic refrigerator, rear sunshades, magnetic camera covers, and even an Intelligent Privacy Sound Shield which adds a sound barrier between the front and rear cabins.

As mentioned, the Zeekr 009 is fully-electric with both variants powered by a dual-motor system that produces a combined whopping 789 horsepower and 810 Nm of torque. That massive output translates to a 0 to 100kph acceleration time of just 3.9 seconds which makes it the world’s fastest MPV.

Its 108kWh ternary lithium battery can be replenished in as fast as 11.5 minutes (10 to 80%) thanks to a 560kW maximum charging power. Driving range is estimated at up to 702km (CLTC) on a single charge.

The Zeekr 009 definitely has a lot going for it with the very attractive spec list, and competitive price against its direct rivals. Would you be different and choose this over its more established rivals?
