Toyota Motor PH recalling Yaris Cross for sunroof issue

Own a Toyota Yaris Cross, particularly a top-of-the-line S HEV variant? Well you’ll want to finish reading this. Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced a recall (or special service campaign) for their fairly popular subcompact crossover model.

A total of 5,086 units produced from May 29, 2023 to November 18, 2024 are affected by this recall in the Philippines.

These affected vehicles are equipped with a fixed panoramic glass roof. Incorrect application of the glass primer during production may result in a reduced adhesive bond between the roof glass and the roof panel. This may cause the glass to detach from the vehicle roof, increasing the risk of accident to other road users.

As usual, owners of affected units will be notified by TMP through an official notification letter and will be invited by authorized Toyota dealers to inspect the panoramic glass roof and if necessary repair or replace it free of charge.

Owners may check if their vehicle is included in the recall through this link, by contacting their preferred authorized dealer, reaching out to TMP’s Customer Assistance Center at +63 2 8819 2912, sending an email to [email protected], sending a private message to the official TMP Facebook page, or by using the ‘Contact Support’ button on the MyToyotaPH app.
