The Suzuki Fronx is eyeing to steal sales from the Toyota Raize, launching later this year

Ever since the Suzuki Vitara subcompact crossover was discontinued in the Philippines, it left a gap in the Japanese automaker’s lineup. That’s soon to be filled once again with the latest crossover from Suzuki Philippines.
Set to make its debut before the end of the year, the Suzuki Fronx has made its first local appearance, previewed at the Suzuki Matsuri 2025 at the SM Mall of Asia which celebrates the brand’s 50th year of presence in the country.

And while the Vitara competed with the likes of the Honda HR-V and Toyota Corolla Cross, the Fronx is aiming straight for the Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet, especially with its dimensions of 3,995mm (length), 1,765mm (width), and 1,550mm (height).

The Fronx takes on a different design approach compared to other Suzuki models with its slim daytime running lights and separated tri-beam headlights on the bumper. It also has pronounced wheel arches, 16-inch alloy wheels, and slim full-width taillights that form a light bar.

Inside, the Fronx will look quite familiar, sharing similar styling cues as the Dzire subcompact sedan. There’s the usual three-spoke steering wheel, an analog gauge cluster, and floating-style touchscreen.

The Fronx will come powered by a 1.5-liter K15C engine paired to a 12V lithium-ion battery and integrated starter generator (ISG), also known as the Smart Hybrid System and making it a mild-hybrid. This makes 103 horsepower and 137Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

We’ll find out the final and exact specifications by its launch which will be happening this year. For now, if you want to see the Suzuki Fronx in the metal, you can check it out at the Suzuki Matsuri 2025 which is being held at the SM Mall of Asia until June 15, 2025 (Sunday).
