The Geely Icon might make its way to the country, according to the LTO

During the brand’s relaunch and introduction of the Okavango Urban Plus, the automaker said that it would be introducing a slew of new vehicles, including a B-segment crossover (or SUV). Thanks to homologation documents from the Land Transportation Office, we have a good idea of what this might be, and it’s the Geely Icon Vogue.
This is a compact crossover that was first introduced back in 2019, and has gone on sale ever since. In fact, Geely Philippines released a PR back in 2019 as well, strongly hinting that the crossover would make its way to our shores. Well, six years later, it seems like the crossover will soon make its debut.

According to the documents, the icon measures 4,442mm long, 1,860mm wide, and 1,770mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,640mm. It rides on 18-inch wheels and has a generous ground clearance of 190mm.

Unlike the rest of Geely’s offerings, the Icon is very distinct with its “purer 8-bit block form” design language, featuring many hard angles, a boxy profile, and unique infinity-shape taillights.

The inside also features an eccentric design language that’s very unique to Geely, from the infinity motif on the door cards, dashboard shape, and aircon vents, two 10.25-inch screens, and a N95-certified air purification system, as this car was released during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, unlike Geely’s recent electric and electrified offerings, the Icon Vouge uses a 1.5-liter gasoline engine, as per the homologation documents.
The only powerplant that it uses so far is a turbocharged 1.5-liter, three-cylinder engine mated to a seven-speed DCT with a 48V mild-hybrid system. The total output is 190 horsepower and 300Nm of torque that goes to the front wheels. If this sounds familiar to you, it’s shared with its Coolray sibling, which also uses the BMA Platform.

While the photos used in this article are from 2019, Geely hasn’t updated the general Icon model, but has introduced several different variants like the Icon Butterfly and the Icon Cowboy, an off-road-oriented model. What do you think this Icon Vogue will look like once it reaches our shores?
