Toyota Hiace Commuter Deluxe ditches rear seats in new Cargo version

Buyers looking for a van that can be used to haul cargo now have an additional option to choose as Toyota Motor Philippines expands its offerings in the commercial vehicle segment with the new Hiace Commuter Deluxe Cargo.
Joining the narrowbody Hiace Cargo in the Japanese automaker’s utility van lineup, the Hiace Commuter Deluxe Cargo is essentially the popular Commuter Deluxe, but without its rear seats.
Compared to the Hiace Cargo, the Hiace Commuter Deluxe Cargo measures 570mm longer, 255mm wider, and 10mm taller, which means that it will definitely be able to swallow more items.
Unsurprisingly, it shares its features with its passenger version. That includes halogen headlights, black plastic front and rear bumpers, 16-inch steel wheels with hubcaps, a new eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and reverse camera.
It also shares the same powertrain which is the tried-and-tested 2.8-liter 1GD-FTV four-cylinder turbodiesel engine that produces 176 horsepower and 420Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed manual transmission.
If you’re looking for a new cargo carrier for your business, you might want to check out the new Toyota Hiace Commuter Deluxe Cargo. Priced at Php 1,615,000, would you get this over the smaller and older Hiace Cargo?
