Lexus gives the LC 500 one more update in the US

With Lexus slowly discontinuing its older ICE-powered vehicles like the IS and RC, it looks like the V8-powered LC coupe is up next on the chopping block as it prepares to launch a successor in something that might be called the LFR, which is supposedly powered by a twin-turbo V8.
And believe it or not, the LC 500 has received yet one more subtle update, although it is meant for the United States for now.
New for the 2026 model year in America is the Inspiration Series, which brings a new Smoke Matte Gray color, a white-and-black interior finish, and carbon fiber exterior bits, including a roof for the sedan. Meanwhile, the convertible will be finished in Wind (an off-white color), with Saddle Tan and White semi-aniline leather seats, and more blacked-out exterior bits. 200 sedans will be made, while there will be 350 convertibles.

If you don’t opt for those limited-run variants, you can still get features such as a carbon fiber fixed rear spoiler (sedan only), body-colored front canards, and 21-inch forged alloy wheels. The interior also gets a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen display (no longer integrated within the dashboard), a 360-degree camera, and a Mark Levinson sound system.
Interestingly, for America, the only powertrain available is the 5.0-liter, naturally aspirated V8 (2UR-GSE) with 471 horsepower and 539 Nm of torque, mated to a ten-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
Gone is the 500h trim, which uses a parallel hybrid setup mating a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 (8GR-FXS) to an electric motor, allowing for a combined power output of 354 horsepower. While both variants are still being offered in the Philippines, this might be the best time to get one before the V8 truly goes away in Lexus’ lineup.
