BYD Cars PH teases the Tang DM-i, its 7-seater PHEV

Not long ago, documents from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) told us that the BYD Tang DM-i could come to our market. Just a few days later, we were able to spot a camouflaged BYD Tang DM-i at a parking lot in Bonifacio Global City. Now we can say for sure that the launch is coming soon.

Set to become the flagship in their plug-in hybrid DM-i lineup, BYD Cars Philippines, under ACMobility, has just teased the arrival of the new Tang DM-i on their official social media pages.

Based on their flagship Tang fully-electric SUV, we already know that the Tang DM-i will be powered by the brand’s Super DM-i system which is composed of a 1.5-liter engine along with an electric motor that produces 272 horsepower and a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery.
Maximum all-electric driving range is estimated at 110km, and replenishing the battery through regular AC charging is estimated at three hours while DC charging would take just 22 minutes.
We also know that it’ll come with a large front grille (as seen on the teaser) which isn’t present in the fully electric version 20-inch alloy wheels, redesigned taillight clusters (also seen on the teasers), a two-tone beige and black color scheme, and a large touchscreen infotainment system. You can read more about what to expect in this link.

BYD Cars Philippines has not mentioned anything yet regarding the BYD Tang DM-i’s pricing and launch date. For the latter, we won’t be surprised to see it happen within the month given that the teaser campaign has already begun.
Are you looking forward to the BYD Tang DM-i?
