The latest in Philippine motoring

The now hybrid-only Ford Territory arrives in PH with two variants and a Php 1.399M starting price

Say whatever you want about the Ford Territory but nothing changes the fact that it’s one of the blue oval brand’s strongest-selling models, and things might just get better as it receives some very important changes for the 2026 model year.

As before two variants are available: the Trend makes a comeback, priced at Php 1,399,000, an increase of Php 64,000 compared to the previous Titanium which it replaces. Meanwhile the Titanium X is once again the top-spec variant, and retains its retail price of Php 1,599,000. The Sport variant has been discontinued.

You can obviously see the refreshed looks but the biggest and most important change is what powers the 2026 Ford Territory as it’s now hybrid-only, and our market is the first to get it in the world.

Under the hood is still a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine, this time producing 150 horsepower and 230Nm of torque. This is now paired to an electric motor that’s capable of 218 horsepower and 315Nm of torque.

This is mated to a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT) that sends power to the front wheels. Also, compared to the plug-in hybrid version from other markets which has the same outputs, our market gets a smaller 1.83kWh lithium-ion battery hence the regular hybrid system.

And going back to its refreshed looks, the 2026 Ford Territory receives quite the redesign, especially in front which goes for a more futuristic design direction.

Measurements are similar to before at 4,685mm long (+55mm), 1,935mm wide, and 1,706mm tall. Ground clearance is slightly lower at 185mm (-5mm) and it rides on a 2,726mm wheelbase.

It gets a new wide octagonal front mesh grille with chrome slats, flanked by new headlights which have been merged into one unit, and a cleaner bumper design. The Titanium X also gets a front light bar, dubbed as the Coast to Coast LED Bar.

Other changes to the exterior include silver trim on the side with “Hybrid” stamped onto it, new alloy wheel designs, and the rear bumper also gets a slight redesign.

Meanwhile, the interior remains largely the same as before with its layered dashboard design that includes a large panel housing two screens for the instrument cluster and infotainment screen. The only noticeable changes here are the new headrests.

As for standard features, the Trend gets full LED exterior lighting (headlights, daytime running lights, taillights), 18-inch two-tone alloy wheels, roof rails, synthetic leather seats, ‘Soft Feel’ steering wheel material, a seven-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a six-speaker audio system with Arkamys SoundStage, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Meanwhile, the Titanium X adds quite a lot. There’s automatic headlights, the aforementioned LED lightbar, puddle lamps, larger 19-inch alloy wheels, a power tailgate, power folding and heated side mirrors, a panoramic sunroof, and chrome door handles on the outside.

The interior gets a leather-wrapped steering wheel, perforated leather seats with front seat ventilation, a 12-inch digital instrument cluster, 10-way adjustable driver seat, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, ambient lighting, and an eight speaker audio system with Arkamys SoundStage.

Safety-wise, the Titanium X is equipped with advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS), which includes adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go function, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), rear cross traffic alert, automatic high beams, forward collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, and Lane Centering Control.

Both variants get four airbags (six on Titanium X), rear parking sensors (front and rear on Titanium X, anti-lock brakes, electronic brakeforce distribution, hill start assist, hill descent control, and rollover mitigation.

With the Ford Territory now joining the electrification game, will it be able to regain its former glory as one of the best selling compact crossovers in our market? Only time will tell but adding-in its redesign, competitive pricing, and features that are similar to before, it’s looking good for the blue oval.
