This is what the all-electric Acura RSX crossover will look like

You may already know that the Acura RSX is set to make a big comeback, but not as a Honda Civic-based five-door hatchback (which is already in production as the Acura Integra), and definitely not like the iconic two-door liftback coupé from the 90s.
Here it is! Honda’s luxury division has unveiled the all-new prototype version of the iconic nameplate at the Monterey Car Week, as a fastback-styled all-electric crossover, set to launch in North America in the second half of next year.

Once it hits production, the new RSX will become the first in-house developed Acura EV, as the current ZDX is co-developed with General Motors. It will also be the first production model to be built on the Honda 0 platform, which means it will also provide a taste of what’s to come from parent company Honda.

It takes a lot of styling cues from the company’s Acura Performance EV concept with its sleek and sharp styling, and fastback silhouette. The front fascia features the brand’s Diamond Pentagon design language, composed of slim daytime running lights and low-mounted headlights
It rides on 21-inch multi-spoke wheels that hide a set of Brembo brakes with sporty red calipers. The rear follows today’s design trends with a full-width light bar that Acura says is inspired by the NSX.

The RSX will also be the first Honda and Acura product to run the new ASIMO OS on its infotainment system. Named after its iconic robot, it allows more direct control of the vehicle’s systems and will be capable of over-the-air (OTA) software updates.

No mechanical specifics have been announced, except that it will have a dual-motor system and an all-wheel drive drivetrain, which Acura says should provide a “fun to drive and engaging” experience.
In typical Honda-Acura fashion, we can expect this prototype to be very similar to the production version with little to no differences once that’s revealed. It will be built at Honda’s Marysville, Ohio plant alongside the Acura Integra.
