The Mazda EZ-60 officially rolls-off the assembly line in China

With already over 38,000 reservations in China, things are looking good for the Mazda EZ-60, the brand’s first fully-electric SUV.

And for sure, those 38,000 buyers are eagerly waiting for their new Mazda, as such, the Japanese automaker has officially commenced production, with the first batch of units rolling off the assembly line at the Changan-Mazda plant in Nanjing.

The EZ-60 is the second Mazda model to be born from the Changan-Mazda joint venture after the EZ-6 fastback sedan, which is also known as the 6e for international markets such as Europe. It will be known as the CX-6e for other markets.

It was unveiled at the Auto China 2025 in Shanghai earlier this year, with an exterior design based on the Arata concept from the Auto China 2024, a minimalist interior with a large 26.45-inch display, and powered by a rear-mounted electric motor capable of driving up to 600km on a single charge.

A range-extended plug-in hybrid version is also available, powered by a 1.5-liter engine paired to an electric motor and 31.7kWh LFP battery, capable of driving 160km on pure electricity, and more than 1,000km on both gas and electricity.

We don’t know yet if the Mazda EZ-60 or CX-6e will come to the Philippine market, but with the brand not having any full electric offerings yet locally, this SUV seems like it could be a good start, especially with the several perks of selling vehicles made in China locally.
