Toyota Motor PH announces recall for 3,416 vehicles due to instrument meter problem

Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has announced a new special service campaign (recall) involving a total of 3,416 vehicles due to an issue with their driver’s digital instrument cluster.
Specifically, this recall affects 2,708 units of the Alphard, produced from June 12, 2023 to May 19, 2025; one unit of the Camry, produced on May 7, 2024; 110 units of the Corolla Altis, produced from May 30, 2023 to September 20, 2024; and 597 units of the Corolla Cross, produced from November 2, 2023 to October 21, 2024.
According to the company’s announcement, the affected vehicles’ 12.3-inch instrument cluster screen will repeatedly save unnecessary data due to a programming error.
This will cause the system’s memory to deplete sooner than expected, eventually preventing the screen from turning on, and keeping it off, upon starting the vehicle. As such, the vehicle’s speedometer, as well as any important information or warnings will not be visible to the driver, making it unsafe to operate.
Affected owners may simply bring their vehicles to their nearest or preferred Toyota dealership or service center to have the entire instrument cluster replaced for free. TMP did however mention that reprogramming software and replacement parts are unavailable at the moment and are expected to be ready by October 2025 or later.
