The latest in Philippine motoring

Here are the variants, specs, and features of the returned Hyundai Venue

As you may already know, the Hyundai Venue has returned to the Philippine market after a few years of absence, taking the entry-level position in its crossover lineup.

Previously available only from 2020 to 2022, Hyundai Motor Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) will now be able to compete with the popular Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet, with the reintroduction of the Venue.

And it also does that with a more affordable starting price, thanks to the introduction of a new base variant, bringing the lineup to three variants, which are as follows:

  • 1.6 GL M/T – Php 778,000
  • 1.6 GL A/T – Php 898,000
  • 1.6 GLS A/T – Php 998,000

It’s obvious that Hyundai hasn’t given the Venue many changes since the last time it was available here, so you might be wondering what you can get for its less than Php 1-million price point.

Starting from the 1.6 GL M/T variant, standard exterior features include halogen headlights with automatic function, bulb-type taillights, power-adjustable side mirrors, and 15-inch alloy wheels

Going for the 1.6 GLS A/T adds power-folding side mirrors with repeater lamps, and the top-spec 1.6 GLS A/T gives you cornering lights, 17-inch two-tone alloy wheels, and LED taillights.

Four exterior color options are available: Denim Blue, Ecotonic Gray Pearl, Abyss Black Pearl, and Atlas White. These are all matched to a black interior.

Speaking of interior, standard features, starting from the base 1.6 GL M/T variant, are an analog gauge cluster with a 3.5-inch multi-info display, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, fabric seats, manual aircon controls, and a urethane steering wheel.

Going for the 1.6 GL A/T adds a tilt and telescopic steering column, and a 4.2-inch multi-info display, while exclusive to the 1.6 GLS A/T is a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

Under the hood, all variants of the Hyundai Venue are powered by a 1.6-liter Gamma MPi engine that produces 123 horsepower and 151Nm of torque, mated to either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission, depending on the variant.

And for safety, the 1.6 GL M/T comes equipped with a driver’s airbag, anti-lock braking system (ABS), and child seat anchors. The 1.6 GL A/T adds a front passenger airbag and rear parking sensors, while the 1.6 GLS A/T gets the addition of hill start assist and electronic stability control.

There you have it, that’s all you need to know about the different variants of the Hyundai Venue, and each one’s different specs and features. Do you think that it has the capability to give the Korean automaker a boost in sales?
