The Kia PV5 is one step closer to coming to the Philippines

We know that Kia Philippines is lined up to bring two new vehicles to the market: the EV3 and the PV5. These two are pure electric offerings, with the former being a subcompact crossover, and the latter a utility van that Kia dubs as its first Platform Beyond Vehicle.

First confirmed at the 2026 Philippine International Motor Show, we’ve already started to see regulatory filings for the former pop up, with the latter following very recently. 

Thanks to available public information, we have an idea that the PV5 will most likely be coming to the country in a single variant: the Cargo Long Standard Range. This means that we might not be getting a passenger variant (just for now, hopefully), and this will be catered towards fleets and business owners.

In fact, it’s very similar to the PV5 Cargo that recently made its debut in Thailand earlier this month, measuring 4,695mm long, 1,895mm wide, and 1,899mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,995mm. The cargo area can carry up to 4,420L, making it perfect for the likes of ACMobility’s Power-On-Wheels portable EV charging service.

It’s powered by a single electric motor mated to a 51.5kWh lithium-ion battery, and said powertrain puts out 163 horsepower and 250Nm of torque. It can drive up to 384km (NEDC) on a single charge, with both AC and DC fast charging supported, with the latter juicing up the battery from 10 to 80% in around 30 minutes. It also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing equipment and other items to be powered by the vehicle.

While plans could change and all, there’s no saying whether Kia Philippines will make this their only variant, especially if consumer interest will be high for a passenger-oriented variant, like what we saw at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 last year.
