Vietnam’s Green GSM expands PH taxi network with new strategic partnership

Chances that you are familiar with Green GSM’s electric taxis are very high considering how they are gaining much traction in the Philippine public transportation scene, plus their very distinct cyan-colored livery, specifically in Metro Manila.
The Vietnamese company, a subsidiary of the Vingroup, parent company of electric car manufacturer, VinFast, is expanding its presence in the Philippines with a new strategic partnership with the Xentro Group of Companies.

Under the recently signed memorandum of understanding (MOU), Green GSM will supply 2,000 units of VinFast Nerio Green electric taxis to the Xentro Group’s AMRC Renewable Corporation (aka Xentro Motors), which will operate under the Green Xentro brand.
The first 1,000 units from this agreement have already been delivered, with the remaining set to arrive within two years. The fleet will operate in Metro Manila and key urban centers around the country, following the completion of regulatory and accreditation processes.

Also part of the agreement, Xentro Motors will also utilize its nationwide Xentro Malls network to offer accessible pick-up zones, EV charging stations, and parking areas, improving convenience for both Green GSM and Green Xentro passengers and drivers.
With Green GSM becoming a very common sight on Philippine roads, things are definitely changing when it comes to local public transportation. Have you been on a Green GSM taxi?
