The latest in Philippine motoring

The BMW 750e xDrive PHEV is now official for Php 7.990M

Remember when we spotted the BMW 750e floating around in Makati, followed by official LTO homologation documents?

A couple of months later, we now get BMW Philippines’ latest plug-in hybrid offering, following the likes of the XM, the X5 xDrive50e, the X3 30e xDrive, and the M5. The 750e xDrive retails for Php 7,990,000, and it brings a lot under the hood.

This now introduces the legendary 3.0-liter, turbocharged straight-six (the B58) with an electric motor for a very quick 489 horsepower and 700Nm of torque to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic. This luxobarge can go all the way to 100kph in 4.8 seconds, but top speed is limited to 250kph.

The all-electric range is up to 86km, and the combined range is an excellent 750km on a single full tank and full charge of the 18.8kWh battery. This can also be charged via the charge port found on the front left fender. Plus, the adaptive air suspension keeps the ride supple and controlled.

Feature and appearance-wise, it is very similar to the range-topping i7 xDrive60, just with an opened-up front grille illuminated by the BMW Iconic Glow lighting signature, Adaptive LED headlights sans the crystal elements for the DRLs, soft-close doors (instead of the auto-opening doors on the i7), and 20-inch, multi-spoke two-tone alloy wheels.

Inside, it also retains the majority of the i7’s features, such as a large panoramic glass roof with electronically controllable sunshades, Veganza leather upholstery, Open Pore wood trim, a Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound system, and the BMW widescreen display with ConnectedDrive services integrated, alongside wireless charging and wireless smartphone integration.

It’s available at all BMW dealerships nationwide, and will be offered with a free portable charger and a comprehensive five-year or 200,000km warranty.
