Mitsubishi Destinator gains a five-star ASEAN NCAP safety rating

Good news for those planning to purchase a Mitsubishi Destinator once it launches in the country next week. 

The new seven-seater crossover has received a five-star safety rating from the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program (ASEAN NCAP), after gaining an overall score of 77.27 out of 100 points under the 2021-2025 ASEAN NCAP assessment protocol.

The results per category are as follows:

  • Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) – 34.69 out of 40 points
  • Child Occupant Protection (COP) – 16.54 out of 20 points
  • Safety Assist (SA) – 15.02 out of 20 points
  • Motorcyclist Safety (MS) – 11.02 out of 20 points

The Destinator unit assessed by the ASEAN NCAP is equipped with four airbags, electronic stability control, anti-lock braking system (ABS), seatbelt reminder system for front and rear occupants, pedestrian protection, ISOFIX seat anchors, and a handful of advanced driver-assist systems (ADAS) which can be had as an option or as standard, depending on the variant.

Again, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines will be launching the Destinator next week, specifically this coming November 20, 2025 (Thursday). There’s a lot to look forward to with this new SUV, and one thing’s for sure, it’s very safe.
