The Honda Civic and HR-V e:HEV achieved new fuel economy records at the DOE 2025 Fuel Eco-Run

It’s no secret that the Honda Civic RS e:HEV and HR-V RS e:HEV are very fuel-efficient cars, having achieved 24.2km/L and 23.8km/L, respectively, based on the 2023 UNR-101 Fuel Efficiency Standards, which combine both urban and extra urban conditions for an almost real-life test.

This time around, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) participated in the Department of Energy (DOE) Fuel Eco-Run 2025 with these two models, conducted last September 24, 2025.

This Eco-Run took place on the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), which totaled a distance of around 155km. Based on these results, the Honda Civic RS e:HEV managed an impressive 30.12km/L, while the Honda HR-V RS e:HEV achieved 28.08km/L, smashing both of its previous records.

These two vehicles utilize Honda’s e:HEV hybrid system that is both fun to drive, just like a Honda should be, alongside refinement and fuel efficiency, which is in line with Honda’s goal for 2050 of achieving carbon neutrality.
