The latest in Philippine motoring

These are the initial specs of the PH-bound Honda Prelude

Last December 5, 2025, Honda Cars Philippines showed off to the country its latest halo model, the Prelude. While the car’s launch is slated for some time this year, that hasn’t stopped a few tidbits from trickling out, like its initial specifications for our market.

It should be no surprise that it’s mostly similar to the global variant, meaning that the same e:HEV powertrain with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder direct injection engine and dual electric motors is present, with a power output pegged at 141 horsepower and 182Nm of torque for the engine, while the electric motor makes 184 horsepower and 315Nm.

The E-CVT is also present, complete with the S+ Shift system for simulated gearshifts, alongside the adaptive dampers, the same front MacPherson strut and Brembo brakes found in the FL5 Civic Type R, and the Berlina Black 19-inch alloy wheels (19×8.5J).

There’s no mention of what colors will be available for our market, but we will only be getting the interior in one spec, and that’s in Blue and White leather, complete with the embroidered Prelude logo. This comes with manually adjustable seats, and the black fabric rear seats are 60:40 split-folding.

Tech-wise, the Prelude comes with a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a 9-inch infotainment with Google Automotive Services. There is also an 8-speaker Bose premium sound system, a wireless charger, dual-zone automatic climate control, and the ability to use Honda Connect.

Finally, the complete suite of Honda Sensing is present, complete with the likes of adaptive cruise control, lane keeping and departure assist, forward collision warning, and automatic emergency braking, to name a few. This car comes with a single backup camera and active cornering lights, and it comes with blind-spot monitoring with rear-cross traffic monitoring instead of the LaneWatch camera-based blind spot monitoring system.

Of course, we’re all waiting for the vehicle’s final price, which could either make or break the vehicle in its segment.
