Tesla Model 3 gets a new and more affordable Standard RWD variant, pricing starts at Php 1.838M

Another day, another update from Tesla Philippines. The American all-electric automaker seems to be doing updates to its Philippine lineup in tranches. We saw the recent introductions of Long-Range RWD variants for the Model 3 and Model Y, and now we’re seeing the new Tesla Model 3 Standard RWD.

The Standard RWD is the new entry-level variant of the Model 3 compact sedan, and of Tesla Philippines as a whole. Pricing starts at Php 1,838,000 and it does come with a handful of differences compared to the former entry-level variant which is now known as the Premium RWD.

For starters, the new Standard RWD rides on 18-inch Prismata wheels instead of the Photon or optional Nova wheels. The power-folding mirrors no longer come with an auto-dimming feature, and the frequency-dependent shock absorbers have been replaced with passive shock absorbers.

Like the rest of Tesla’s lineup, the standard exterior color is Pearl White Multi-Coat, and optional are Diamond Black and Stealth Grey, coming with a Php 66,000 and Php 99,000 premium, respectively.
Inside, it’s only available in black with leather and textile fabric seat upholstery. The front seats are now heated only, and it gets manual adjustability for the steering column and rear air vents, loses the eight-inch rear touchscreen, but still gets a 15.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system, just without AM/FM radio capability and is now paired to just seven speakers.

Despite the downgrades, the Tesla Model 3 Standard RWD still gets a panoramic glass roof, LED headlights with automatic and adaptive high beams, all-around exterior cameras, a power trunk lid, and the standard Basic Autopilot system.
It also shares the same powertrain and battery with the RWD, having a single rear-mounted electric motor making 280 horsepower and 340Nm of torque, paired to a 64kWh battery that allows a range of up to 534km on a single full charge.
Tesla Philippines has probably brought this in to attract even more buyers on top of their already competitive sales numbers. Despite it being a substantial downgrade from the previous entry-level variant, would you buy a Tesla Model 3 Standard RWD to join the Tesla bandwagon?
