Mitsubishi Triton gets new GX 2WD AT trim for 2026, priced at Php 1.430M

The Mitsubishi Triton, launched in our market in early 2024, is getting its first set of updates in our market, starting with the introduction of a new 2.4 GX 2WD A/T variant which aims to provide a more affordable start price for the non-utility variants of the midsize pickup truck.

The new variant sits between the Triton 2.4 GLX 2WD M/T and utility-focused Triton 2.4 GL 4WD M/T. Pricing is set at Php 1,430,000.

What sets this apart from other variants?

Most obvious on the outside are the new 16-inch alloy wheels. It shares the same multi-reflector halogen headlights and black plastic grille with diagonal slats with the GLX variants, but makes do without fog lights and a bedliner.

The interior is more basic compared to the GLX with its all-black color scheme, doing away with contrasting silver trim. Similar to the GL trims, the instrument cluster gets simpler analog gauges with a small display in the center, along with manual airconditioning adjustment. The passenger side storage compartment is also now open with no cover lid.

It still gets fabric seats, an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and steering wheel audio controls.

Under the hood, the Triton GX still gets the same 2.4-liter 4N16 four-cylinder turbodiesel that makes 183 horsepower and 430Nm of torque. It’s mated to a six-speed automatic transmission for this application.

Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) has not yet announced the full specifications of the new Triton 2.4 GX 2WD A/T, as of this writing, with all information here sourced from official Mitsubishi dealers. We’ll update this article with more complete information once it becomes available.

For now, do you think the 2026 Mitsubishi Triton 2.4 GX 2WD A/T is an enticing option for those looking for a more traffic-friendly affordable pickup truck?
