Honda Cars PH celebrates 30 years of the City with special 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition variants

Honda Cars Philippines is on a roll. Celebrating 30 years of its beloved City nameplate, the Japanese automaker is introducing a special 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition, launched alongside the updated Honda CR-V.

With over 150,000 units sold and five generations since the vehicle’s debut in the Philippine market in 1996, the City is certainly an important vehicle for HCPI, and it’s just apt that they celebrate one of their most successful and longest-running nameplates.

Available in sedan and hatchback body styles, both models sport a black-and-white color scheme, special 30th Anniversary Pearl Edition emblems, and an exclusive color of Platinum White.

The sedan, based on the entry-level 1.5 S CVT variant, gets a honeycomb pattern for the front grille, black accents on the side mirrors, front grille, and wheels—and the rest remains unchanged. This goes for Php 1,039,000, which is Php 41,000 more than the regular S variant (Php 998,000).

As for the hatchback, this is based on the sole 1.5 RS CVT variantand retails for Php 1,279,000 (+Php 160,000). Compared to the sedan, this has a few more changes. It comes with blacked-out badging, a front lip with orange bumper garnish, a black extension garnish on the tailgate spoiler, a rear bumper extension with a diffuser, and an exhaust tip finisher.

Still powering both is the same 1.5-liter naturally aspirated i-VTEC gasoline engine with 121 horsepower and 145Nm of torque, mated to a CVT. Honda Sensing is also present on both variants, like the rest of the City lineup.

It’s obvious how much Filipinos love the nameplate, and we definitely hope that Honda Cars Philippines further enhances it with a hybrid drivetrain down the line, but for now, these special edition variants will do. What do you think?
