The BYD Yangwang U9 makes its first video game appearance in Gran Turismo 7’s April 2026 Update

Car News

While it’s easy to see that Gran Turismo 7 has fallen into that state of having very minor “filler” updates once again, there’s something quite notable about its 1.69 update for April, which includes an interesting roster of cars.

The first is the ‘24 BYD Yangwang U9. While this isn’t the first Chinese car to make its way to the game (that honor belongs to the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra), this is notable since this is essentially China’s flagship hypercar. With 1,305 horsepower, 1,680 Nm of torque, the incredible DiSus-X suspension system, and its outlandish styling, it’s easy to see how this car managed to make headlines around the world.

Next up is the ‘93 Porsche 911 Turbo S Leichtbau (964). This one is a rarer iteration of the popular 964 Turbo S, where around 86 were ever made. Leichtbau stands for lightweight, where the lighter body panels and weight-saving measures make it 179kg lighter than the standard variant. Of course, power comes from the legendary 3.3-liter M30 turbo flat-six, making 320 horsepower and 450Nm of torque.

Finally, an iconic and adorable city car gets added in the ‘93 Renault Twingo. This subcompact hatchback has one of the most distinct-looking designs inside and out, with the friendliest front fascia that you’ll ever see on the road. Of course, this won’t be a powerhouse with its 1.2-liter four-cylinder engine, but the light weight and short wheelbase should make this a blast to drive.

Of course, there are new events and scapes locations to utilize these cars, and the April update should be live as of this writing, so you can fire up your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 to download the new content.
