Tesla releases first 30 units of Model Y L orders in PH

The Tesla Model Y L is off to a good start in the Philippine market. About a month and a half after its initial local preview and opening of reservations, the first batch of orders of the six-seater electric SUV have been released to their owners.

Tesla Motors Philippines held a handover event on May 3, 2026 (Sunday), at 4th Avenue in Bonifacio Global City, a common car meet location on Sundays. A total of 30 units of the Tesla Model Y L were released during the handover event, in various specifications selected by the new vehicle owners.

The handover also came way ahead of the estimated two to three months typical waiting time for Tesla vehicle orders in the Philippines. The six-seater crossover was initially previewed for the Philippine market on April 25, 2026, and reservations were opened a few days after. It came at the right time as fuel prices soared to record high numbers, especially for diesel fuel. This prompted many three-row SUV owners and other pure-ICE vehicle owners to make the switch to battery electric vehicles (BEV).

If you haven’t absorbed it yet, the Tesla Model Y L comes with six seats across three rows, with a body extended by 179mm, and a wheelbase extended by 150mm. It gets a dual-motor powertrain that’s good for 514 horsepower, and a range of up to 681km with its 88.20kWh nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery. You can read more about the Tesla Model Y L here.

In 2025, Tesla Motors Philippines was the second bestselling EV brand in the country, after BYD. This was achieved only with two offerings–Model 3 electric sports sedan and Model Y compact electric crossover. With the Model Y L, the American automaker is expected to challenge mainstream and very popular seven-seater turbodiesel-powered midsize SUVs, and even more expensive midsize crossovers.
