The Audi A6 Allroad is the perfect do-it-all station wagon

Ask car enthusiasts what the perfect form factor is, and they’ll universally agree that it’s the station wagon. A sleek, three box design with practicality that rivals large SUVs, and driving dynamics and performance of smaller sedans. What more can you ask for?
Well, ground clearance is usually something that’s omitted, but there’s a class of SUV-fied wagons that add a bit of ruggedness to that formula. You have the Subaru Outback or Levorg Layback, the Volvo Cross Country series, and Audi’s Allroad series.
Most recently, Audi has given the new A6 Avant the Allroad treatment, and this is just more than lifting the wagon and giving it plastic cladding. The A6 Allroad has way more going for it, and for one, it’s noticeably wider.

It has massive flared out fenders that might be seen in the upcoming RS6 Avant, measuring a whole 11cm wider than the A6 Avant. Combined with the large alloy wheels, the plastic cladding, and the aggressive styling, the lifted wagon will surely turn heads as you drive by.
And it sits 34mm taller than the standard A6 Avant, but it handles just as well thanks to the off-road optimized air suspension that has up to 55mm of adjustments in both ways, the four-wheel steering, larger tires, all mated to the Quattro all-wheel drive system.

It’s also a plug-in hybrid for the very first time, powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gas engine and an electric motor capable of a healthy 367 horsepower and 500Nm of torque. Thanks to a 25.9kWh battery, it can do up to 95km (WLTP) of all-electric driving. If you prefer traditional combustion, there is also a mild hybrid, 3.0-liter V6 turbo diesel with 299 horsepower and 580Nm of torque, optimized for increased towing loads and more power.

Apart from that, the car is very similar to the standard A6 Avant with the same design language, the three available screens inside powered by the Audi MMI interface, digital matrix LED headlights and OLED taillights, dimmable panoramic sunroof, and more.

The A6 Allroad will be available later this year in Europe. But with how niche this is in our side of the world, we won’t be surprised if this ends up being skipped over or left as an indent order model by Audi Philippines. Regardless, we still want one.
