The Geely Monjaro might be coming to the PH in PHEV form

Last year, we went on a trip with Geely Motor Philippines, and we were given a quick preview of a handful of vehicles that could potentially be coming to the Philippines, and for sure, we’ve already seen two of the five being officially launched with the EX5 EM-i and the EX2.

However, thanks to available public information, it seems like we could be seeing a third model possibly arrive in our country in the Monjaro EM-i. For those who don’t know, the Monjaro is Geely’s premium midsize crossover offering, measuring 4,800mm long, 1,895mm wide, and 1,700mm tall with a wheelbase of 2,845mm.

According to the available public information, it will come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with a maximum engine power output of 144 horsepower (106kW) and 230Nm of torque, mated to a three-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission, and two electric motors with a maximum power output of 272 horsepower (200kW) and 493Nm of torque, bringing the total system output to a healthy 416 horsepower (306kW) and 723Nm of torque.
It’s mated to a 29.8kWh LFP battery, capable of AC charging at up to 6.6kW and DC fast charging of up to 78kW, with a fast charging time of 15 minutes from 30 to 80%. It also supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) at up to 6kW, and it can drive for up to total of 906km (WLTC) combined, or up to 116km (WLTP) of pure EV range.

It should feature a whole suite of luxuries like leather all over, power-adjustable, ventilated, massaging front seats, a panoramic sunroof, the Flyme Auto OS and a 16-speaker Flyme Sound audio system, a complete suite of advanced driver assistance systems, and even the option for a Continuous Damping Control Suspension system for a more comfortable ride.
Now, we’re unsure if this will truly be the one we’ll be getting as rumors of the Monjaro arriving in the country have been floating around since 2022—but with Geely Motor Philippines’ track record, we’re a bit optimistic that we may finally see this on our shores pretty soon.
