Inchcape PH to drop Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM brands by the end of June 2027

It looks like Inchcape Philippines is in hot water, as shortly after selling their Mazda C5 Pasig dealership to Mazda Philippines itself, the distributor announced something a bit more shocking: it will be ending the distribution partnership of the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and RAM (CDJR) brands in the country effective June 2027.

According to the press release, it says that this decision reflects its current approach to its portfolio management, with the group regularly reviewing its brand partnerships to make sure it’s “aligned with business priorities and strategic growth ambitions”.

This won’t happen immediately, thankfully, as the distributor and Stellantis agreed to ease the transition for supporting current owners, and to turn over to whoever will end up getting the distributorship for these brands that have been in the country for a good while.

Oddly enough, Chrysler doesn’t even sell any vehicles in the Philippines after the discontinuation of the 300C, other than their logo being present in the dealership just for brand presence.

After this, Inchcape Philippines will be left offering brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Harley-Davidson motorcycles, all of which were part of the CATS Group of companies’ portfolio before the joint venture, along with Changan Auto.

These announcements remind us of Astara’s exit from the country late last year, where the Spanish distributor dropped brands such as Peugeot, GAC, JMC, JAC, before bowing out of the country.

Now we don’t know what this spells for the distributor and the other brands currently under its umbrella, but this usually isn’t a good sign. We hope that it will find a way to not only retain its current existing brands, but also rejuvenate them.
