iCaur is coming to PH with two models this October 2026

The spree of new Chinese automotive brands entering the Philippine market continues, this time with iCaur, the fourth sub-brand under the umbrella of Chery to arrive on local shores.

iCaur’s local presence will be handled by Omoda & Jaecoo (O&J) Philippines which is already a direct subsidiary of Chery International. The brand is known as iCar in China, and is very young, established only in 2023. 

And with the announcement of its entry, we even learned of a new vehicle segment–the “boxy NEV” segment–as O&J Philippines said in their press release that iCaur leads that “segment” in Southeast Asia. As to whether it actually exists is a different story. 

Anyway, iCaur actually exists in our market, just not as a brand. The Jaecoo EJ6, O&J Philippines’ first EV offering, is actually a rebranded iCaur 03. Its entry as a separate brand in the Philippines will be marked by the introduction of two models–the iCaur V23 and iCaur V27. 

The iCaur V23 is a fully electric compact SUV, while the iCaur V27 is a range-extended mid-size SUV. Both follow a retro-inspired exterior design, common in today’s Chinese SUV market across many different brands. Information on the two models such as exact specifications and features are not yet available as of this writing, but looking at what other markets have gives us an idea of what to expect. 

In other markets, the iCaur V23 offers different all-electric powertrains with outputs ranging from a humble 136 horsepower to as much as 455 horsepower. Battery sizes also differ, ranging from 50.6kWh to 81.7kWh, and providing a driving range of up to 470km. Meanwhile, the iCaur V27 in other markets come with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine making 143 horsepower, paired to options of a single rear-mounted electric motor with up to 252 horsepower, or dual electric motors providing up to a combined 456 horsepower. Total driving range goes up to as much as 1,110km.

According to O&J Philippines, the iCaur brand will officially make its local debut this coming October 2026.
