The Kia Stonic is priced under Php 1-million (Specs and Pricing)
Kia Philippines has just announced some details about its upcoming Stonic subcompact crossover. The new model is set to slot below the Seltos which is also a subcompact crossover though larger and will be launched later this year.
First unveiled to the world in 2017 at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany, the Kia Stonic immediately earned the attention of many people especially those in the younger age group thanks to its stylish and hip design. This crossover was inspired by Kia’s chief designer Peter Schreyer’s European Design Language and has shown more straight lines and smooth surfaces to provide owners a preview of what they would experience inside the vehicle.
For its exterior, the local-spec Stonic will be equipped with projector headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights (exclusive to EX variant). This will be complemented by Kia’s signature Tiger Nose Grille. The top-tier EX variant also gets a two-tone color option which will make it more youthful looking.
Inside, the Stonic gets a standard 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also standard making it easier to link your phones and use its functions while on the road. Sound is also sent through a 6-speaker audio system which according to Kia produces crisp music.
Under the hood, the Philippine-spec Stonic will be powered by a 1.4-liter Inline-4 cylinder with D-CVVT (Dual Continuous Variable Valve Timing). This is paired to either a 5-speed manual (LX M/T only) or a 6-speed automatic transmission. The base LX M/T variant’s engine produces 94 horsepower while the automatic versions produce 99 horses.
Safety features on the Kia Stonic will include Reverse Parking Sensors, Hill Start Assist, Electronic Stability Control (all on EX variant).
Pricing on the other hand is relatively affordable as all variants will be available for less than Php 1-million. See them below:
- 1.4 LX M/T: Php 735,000
- 1.4 LX A/T: Php 835,000
- 1.4 EX A/T: Php 925,000
Not only that, those who will reserve a Kia Stonic today until October 15, 2020 will get a pre-launch offer of Php 60,000 less for the 1.4 LX M/T and Php 50,000 less for the 1.4 LX A/T and 1.4 EX A/T.
“We are excited to present to you the all-new 2021 Kia Stonic. It’s a vehicle for those looking for something hip and stylish yet likewise want to get the value-for-money proposition that this crossover offers,” says Manny Aligada, President of Kia Philippines.
Just like other vehicles in the Kia Philippines line-up, the Kia Stonic will be offered with a five-year or 160,000-km warranty, as well as 24/7 Roadside Assistance free for five years. Roadside Assistance would include: Emergency Towing, Personal Assistance, Minor Onsite Repair, Medical Assistance and Information Service for a secured, enjoyable and worry-free ownership.
