Ford PH Teases Ranger FX4 Max Anew, shows-off some equipment
Just a few days ago, Ford Philippines announced Part Two of the ‘Live The Ranger Life’ virtual launch event. The announcement came with what looks like the front fascia of the Ford Ranger FX4 Max and came just a few weeks after they launched the refreshed Ranger lineup.
Now, the company has teased yet again the upcoming Ranger variant with a set of photos on their official Facebook page, this time revealing some of the features the model will get once it’s introduced here.
The first photo shows a clearer picture of the Ranger FX4 Max’s front fascia, showing the Raptor-like front grille with Ranger lettering on top. Also visible are the headlights which appear to be projector-type halogen units unlike the full LED’s on the Australian version and local Wildtrak and Raptor. This could also mean that the FX4 Max may sit between the Wildtrak and FX4 instead but that is just speculation based on a headlight bulb.
Other equipment we see are the same set of 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich all-terrain tires from the Australian version. We are likely to see those swapped with Goodyear Wrangler all-terrain tires instead as with what they did with the local Raptor. Also shown are the Fox shock absorbers. Lastly, also shown are auxiliary switches on the dashboard that allow the connection of additional electrical components. Other than that, there’s no other things we could notice.
Given that there are some differences between the Australian-market version and the ones in Ford PH’s teaser, which are probably more accurate in guessing what we’ll be getting, we’re not sure if we will also see the Ranger Raptor and Wildtrak’s 2.0L Bi-turbo diesel engine that makes 210 hp and 500 Nm of torque. We might actually see the single turbo version that makes less power and torque instead but we’re still leaning on the former as only the 4×4 equipped Wildtrak gets the Biturbo which could be the case with the FX4 Max with its 4×4 drivetrain as well.
The Live The Ranger Life Part 2 virtual launch is happening on March 10, 2021 at 5:00 PM PST. By then we’ll surely have all the details of this exciting new Ranger variant.
