The Mitsubishi Montero Sport GT 4WD is now more affordable than its competition
When it was first launched some time last year, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport, specifically the top-spec GT 4×4 variant was the most expensive in its segment, priced higher than its competition such as the Toyota Fortuner and Nissan Terra among others.
That doesn’t seem to be the case anymore as Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) has actually reduced the price of the 4×4 SUV. No, this is not a promo, the suggested retail price has really been reduced.
The guys at MMPC actually did not make any announcements with regards to this and the price decrease was first reported on CarGuidePH and was spotted on the local Mitsubishi Motors website.
While the high price was well justified by its features such as various driver-assist features not available with its competition, it’s really quite difficult to market a vehicle that costs the most in its segment.
From Php 2,450,000, the Mitsubishi Montero Sport GT 4×4 is now priced at Php 2,298,000 with a price reduction of Php 152,000. This also comes after units of the GT 4×4 received massive discounts and the SRP’s of the GT 4×2 and GLS 4×2 variants were reduced by Php 70,000 earlier this year.
This means the top-of-the-line Montero Sport is now priced less than the 4×4 versions of the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Everest, and just a little bit higher than the Nissan Terra’s.
Will the Mitsubishi Montero Sport GT 4×4’s more affordable suggested retail price plus its fully-loaded features make you purchase one or would you go with its competition?
