Facelifted Mitsubishi Mirage G4 to be launched in PH on August 28
We reported a few months ago that the facelifted Mitsubishi Mirage G4 was spotted on a flatbed truck, completely uncovered, in Pasig City. That was in May. A few months later, we finally have a launch date. Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) will finally be launching the updated version of its subcompact sedan offering.
The facelifted Mitsubishi Mirage G4 was first revealed in Thailand back in 2019 and will officially be launched in the Philippines on August 28.
While the Mirage G4 has received several updates since it was first introduced locally in 2013, the one to be launched is the most major yet. Based on overseas markets as well as teaser photos from MMPC, the subcompact sedan gets a new front fascia that wears Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front fascia and new alloy wheels, among other updates. We don’t know what else exactly the new Mirage G4 will be getting but we are also seeing Apple CarPlay connectivity, also based on the teaser photos.
We also do not know yet as of now whether the updated version of the Mirage hatchback will be introduced simultaneously with the sedan or when.
Under the hood, expect the Mirage G4 to still be powered by a 1.2-liter inline-3 cylinder petrol engine that’s good for 77 horsepower and 100 Nm of torque, paired to either a 5-speed manual or continuously variable transmission (CVT).
As with most car launches in the past year, the Philippine-spec Mitsubishi Mirage G4 will be unveiled via an online launch on August 28, 10 AM, via MMPC’s official Facebook page and YouTube channel.
With the updated Mitsubishi Mirage G4 coming very soon, do you think it will have what it takes to compete head on with the updated version of the Toyota Vios, completely new Honda City, and other models in the segment?
