2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer launched in PH, starts at Php 1.488M

They say change is inevitable and that’s the case with Chevrolet Philippines. After the closure of General Motors’ production facility in Thailand which produces the locally sold Trailblazer pick-up based SUV, there is no choice but to change.

Launched in the Philippines over the weekend and now sourced from South Korea, the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is now smaller, but big in change as it now sports a compact crossover SUV bodystyle, far from the model it replaces.

“We are proud to introduce the all-new 2022 Chevy Trailblazer to the Philippine market,” says Atty. Albert B. Arcilla, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chevrolet Philippines–TCCCI. “The Trailblazer is a continuation of the new design language for Chevy’s crossover family and extends our momentum into one of the industry’s fastest-growing segments. It continues the SUV heritage of the revered nameplate and is now loaded with safety and convenience features that anticipate the needs of today’s most discerning customers,” Arcilla adds.

Available in two variants, LT and Premier, the all-new Trailblazer sports Camaro-like styling in front. Taking center stage is Chevrolet’s signature dual-port grille, which gives its face a multilayered, dimensional appearance. The accent bar is integrated with the headlamps, helping to visually widen its stance, while a simulated front skid plate adds a sense of strength.

Standard exterior equipment on the Trailblazer LT are halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, active grille shutters, power folding heated side mirrors, black front and rear skid plate, a rear spoiler, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Premier variant upgrades the vehicle with LED headlights, LED fog lights, LED taillights and LED third brake light, and a power tailgate.

Inside, both variants are identical with similar standard equipment such as leather seats with heated function for all seats, 8-inch MyLink touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speaker audio system, push button start, and a leather-wrapped tilt & telescopic steering wheel. Going for the Premier variant adds automatic climate control.

Under the hood of the all-new 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is a 1.3-liter inline-3 cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 155 horsepower and 236 Nm of torque. It is paired to a continuously variable transmission with power sent to the front wheels.

In terms of safety, the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is fully-loaded with both active and passive safety features. Standard on both variants are the usual passive safety features such as dual front airbag, side airbags, side curtain airbags, side door impact beams, anti-lock braking system, traction control system, electronic stability control, electronic brakeforce distribution, hill start assist, cornering brake control, rollover protection, engine drag control, brake assist, rear parking sensors, reverse camera, and ISOFIX child seat anchor points.

Also standard on both variants are various active safety features which are forward collision alert, following distance indicator, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane change alert with side blind zone alert, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, rear cross traffic alert, and tire pressure monitoring system.

Now being a crossover, it’s not surprising that the 2022 Chevrolet Trailblazer is now more affordable than the model it replaces despite being better equipped. The entry-level 1.3 LT variant is priced at Php 1,488,888 while the 1.3 Premier is priced at Php 1,621,888

All who purchase a new Trailblazer will also take advantage of a five-year warranty, automatic enrollment to the 24/7 Chevrolet Roadside Assistance for three (3) years, and immediate access to the 24/7 Chevy Hotline for convenient vehicle service and ownership needs.
