Expressway EV Charging Stations: Where can you recharge?
Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) have both been gaining much popularity lately, especially in Metro Manila which is understandably the most developed in terms of EV-related infrastructure.
And for many adopters of these types of electrified vehicles, charging has been easier than before with EV charging stations dotted around the big city. It’s a different story though once you have to go on a longer road trip outside to the provinces as this is more limited.
Worry not though, as EV charging stations have slowly started popping up along major expressways in Luzon, particularly the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX), Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX), and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX), all located within major service station stops along their respective routes.
Driving north or south of Metro Manila, here’s a list of all operating charging stations along major Luzon expressways:

As for expressways like the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX), STAR Tollway, Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), Muntinlupa-Cavite Expressway (MCX), and Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), there are no EV charging stations located directly along or within their routes yet as of this writing. Our list also does not include EV charging stations that require you to exit the expressways and elevated expressways for obvious reasons.
