GWM is going all-in on 4x4s and electrification in PH with their MIAS 2026 showcase

While it started its local presence with a couple of electrified crossovers and a pickup truck, it looks like GWM Philippines, under the distributorship of the Luxuriant Automotive Group, Inc. (LAGI) appears to be changing its direction.
The Chinese automaker looks to be shifting its focus more on its 4×4 lineup in our market, based on the launch of the GWM Haval H9 earlier this year, and its teaser for the upcoming 2026 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS).

Based on the new teaser, set to be launched (or previewed) are the Tank 700 and the Haval V7 4×4 off-road SUVs. Also shown is what looks like the Ora 5 electric compact crossover.

This perfectly aligns with what the brand says will be an “immersive experience” for its visitors, through its philosophy of “All Powertrains, All Scenarios, All Users,” where it’s expected to showcase its latest electrified powertrains under the Hi4 name, which could with the aforementioned SUVs, along with its fully electric powertrain and platform, of course.
“Filipino drivers are navigating a changing landscape, rising fuel prices, diverse road conditions, and evolving lifestyle needs,” said GWM Philippines Brand Head Dax Avenido. “Our approach is simple: provide solutions that are smart, practical, and tailored for real life. Whether it’s efficiency for daily driving or readiness for adventure, we’ve got it covered.”
The 2026 Manila International Auto Show is happening at the World Trade Center Metro Manila from April 9-12, 2026 (Thursday to Sunday). We’ll have more information on these new vehicles from GWM Philippines once they come out.
