Ford Mustang Mach-E in PH gets more range with new RWD variant

Ford Philippines is boosting its local electrified lineup with the addition of a new Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant for the Mustang Mach-E, its sole fully electric offering in the country.
The fully electric crossover was first launched in the Philippines back in August last year in a single Premium AWD variant, priced at Php 3,499,000. With the recent increased demand for battery electric vehicles (BEV), this new Mustang Mach-E RWD could not have come at a better time.
For starters, this is much more affordable than the Premium AWD variant, priced at an introductory price of Php 2,599,000. This is a whole Php 500,000 less than its suggested retail price of Php 3,199,000, and also makes it nearly Php 1-million more affordable than the Premium AWD.
Its main difference with the AWD is in its electric powertrain. This one gets a rear-mounted electric motor instead of two, but still produces a respectable 276 horsepower and 525Nm of torque. Battery capacity remains the same at 88kWh, but it can now drive further with up to 615km of range on a single charge.
Just like the AWD, driving is customizable through the options of Whisper, Engage, and Unbridle drive modes, and it’s also equipped with a One-Pedal Drive feature which allows driving with only the accelerator pedal in use.
Design and equipment remain unchanged compared to the Premium AWD, wearing the signature Mustang design with an aggressive front fascia, wide stance, and signature tri-bar taillights, along with its minimalistic interior that features simple and straight lines.
Standard features also remain the same, including active grille shutters, LED exterior lighting, sequential turn signals, 19-inch machine-finished alloy wheels, perforated ActiveX synthetic leather seats, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, a vertical 15.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system that runs SYNC4A, among others.
Ford Philippines says that the Mustang Mach-E RWD is a limited-edition model, which means that it will likely no longer be available for purchase once stocks run out. We don’t know the exact number of units to be made available but we’ll update this article once we get that information.
The Ford Mustang Mach-E is available at select Ford dealerships which are as follows: Ford Alabang, Ford Balintawak, Ford Cebu, Ford EDSA-Greenhills, Ford Global City, Ford Libis and Ford Marikina.
Would you get the Ford Mustang Mach-E over the more powerful AWD variant?
