Honda reveals more specs for the adorable Super-ONE compact EV

While most of Honda’s electric vehicles were cancelled recently, a few of them still lived on. One of these is the spunky little Super-ONE, which was unveiled as a prototype at the Japan Mobility Show 2025.

As with Honda, most of their prototype vehicles are very close to final, and the Super-ONE on display had a proper interior that visitors could check out. So it’s no surprise that Honda has now finally revealed more specifications for the Super-ONE compact EV as it is getting ready to begin sales in its home country of Japan, starting late May 2026.

Essentially a souped-up kei car on the outside, it features a body kit that further widens the track, with functional front and rear air ducts to aid with aerodynamics and efficiency. It rides on two-tone 15-inch alloy wheels, and it’s finished in a bright purple hue called Boost Violet Pearl, inspired by “blue jets of lightning that shoot upward to outer space.” You can also find the purple and blue motif extends into the interior, especially on the asymmetrical-design front sports seats.

The electric motor normally produces 63 horsepower (47kW), but in the specially designed BOOST mode, it ups the power output to 95 horsepower (70kW), alongside engaging the “virtual seven-speed gearbox” that can be controlled via the paddle shifters similar to the S+ shift technology first seen in the Prelude.

The BOOST mode also gets a special triple instrument cluster that shows battery temperature, power gauge, and a pseudo tachometer that displays virtual engine rpm that works with the virtual engine sounds coming out from the eight-speaker Bose Premium Sound System, alongside the ambient lighting, which turns from blue to purple.

Honda also boasts the vehicle’s weight and handling, which is better compared to its N Series of kei cars. With a thin battery (no specific capacity mentioned) that’s positioned under the center of the floor, it boasts a vehicle weight of 1,090kg. This allows it to have a range of up to 274km on a single charge (WLTC).

Now, the interesting thing is that the Super-ONE is a global product. After the vehicle’s launch in Japan, other markets such as the UK and other Asian countries will be getting this, so there is hope for Honda Cars Philippines to introduce this to their local lineup.
