Kia PV5 gets new variants in South Korea, should they come here too?

We already know that the Kia PV5 is coming to the Philippines, announced at the 10th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) a few weeks ago. And while the Korean automaker has not confirmed any information about the fully electric van for our market, there is a lot to look forward to.

That includes three new variants which were recently revealed at the 2026 Busan International Mobility Show (BIMOS)–the Passenger 7-seater, Prime, and Cargo High Roof–part of the brand’s continuous expansion of its electric van lineup.

Obvious from its name, the PV5 Passenger 7-seater is based on the standard eight-seater PV5 Passenger, but with one less seat. Its interior is laid out in a 2-2-3 configuration, with the second row seats positioned on one side for easy access to the third row, especially for family van and shuttle van uses.

The PV5 Prime, on the other hand, is also based on the PV5 Passenger, but is designed as a more premium option. It features a pair of independent seats on the second row, similar to what’s seen on vehicles equipped with Premium Relaxation Seats.

Finally, there’s the PV5 Cargo High Roof. This variant, by its name, gets a high roof configuration. This adds 295mm of height and allows for taller cargo and an optional walk-through configuration that allows free movement between the driver’s seat and the cargo area.
We don’t know if these new variants will also be coming to the Philippines once the nameplate launches before the end of the year. What do you think? And oh, that Cargo High Roof might look good for the brand’s distributor’s EV charging vans (wink wink).
