Mitsubishi confirms all-new Pajero unveiling on September 2

The hype is at an all-time high with the all-new Mitsubishi Pajero. Multiple teasers, feature confirmations, and even advanced previews to some very lucky individuals have been dropped in the past few months, but now we have confirmation that the world premiere for the flagship SUV will take place on September 2, 2026.

What’s more, Mitsubishi Motors will be counting down the days by drip-marketing new information about the model.

Their Japanese website showcases a new teaser showing key features of the Pajero obscured by sand housed within the letters of the logo— “P” confirms the Xforce-style LED daytime running lights, “A” showing the digital triple-meter display housed within the tablet-style infotainment screen, “E” and “J” showing the premium two-tone leather seating, “R” being the Super Select 4WD dial, and “O” showcasing a bit of the design of the black-out alloy wheels.

We already know a couple of confirmed aspects, such as how it will be utilizing a Triton-based ladder-frame chassis, albeit with bespoke tuning to deliver the “legendary capability” and comfort to be expected, and the Super-All Wheel Control (S-AWC) four-wheel drive.

It will also have the iconic multi-meter, which will be a digital triple-meter display that calls back to older Pajeros to provide information like altitude, roll, pitch, left-right torque distribution, and more. And of course, we already have an idea of what it might look like, complete with its new T-shaped DRL.

Plus, Mitsubishi says that the Pajero name won’t be a single model, but rather a series of models, which could signal the return of other models like the Pajero Mini, and even a separate Pajero/Montero Sport, and a potential compact crossover hybrid Pajero, according to Nikkei Asia.
